General Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.
    Level of English: IELTS 6, TOEFL 80 (internet-based test) or TOEFL 550 (paper-based test).
    Non-EEA candidates are required to provide proof of English Language proficiency.

Specific Requirements

The admission and selection procedure is based on two elements that are equally important: a portfolio and a motivation letter. Selected candidates will be invited for an interview.

Advice on your application documents

Your portfolio should reveal all relevant aspects of your design practice you find important to share with the committee. This can contain examples of earlier work such as designs, prototypes, sketches, photography and projects. But also, material that give the committee insight into your personal vision on the design field.

File specifications: PDF file (10-20 pages, max 5 MB), text in English

The second element on which the admission and selection is based is your motivation letter. Your motivation should provide the committee insight in what way and why the Master Industrial Design programme fits your design approach and career.

Application deadlines

The Master Industrial Design processes applications on a rolling basis from October to May, until all positions in the cohorts are filled. We work in 2 batches:

Priority deadline:
1 March

This priority deadline ensures a timely response to your application and clarity about your admissibility.

Final deadline:
1 May

In case you can’t meet the submission deadline we ask you to contact the programme coordinator.

Note: The application deadline entails registration via Studielink and submission of required documents incl. portfolio. Please note that it will take some time to upload a full application.
