Graphic designer with a specific interest in typography and systematic design.
After two stints at Studio Dumbar, where he worked on visual identities for ministries, museums and universities as well as large companies–for which he also developed photo-libraries–he started Buro Van Baar in 2008, specializing in editorial and wayfinding design.
Meanwhile, with alumni from his first year of teaching at KABK BA Photography (2004), he established an artist collective which published ‘Salvo, Periodical for Photography’.
From 2003 till 2010 he also taught graphic design at the Design Academy Eindhoven.
For the Association of Dutch designers (BNO) he co-organizes the monthly designer’s café Zefir7 since 1999, currently at Stroom Den Haag.
He contributes on an ad hoc basis to the collection registration of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. His own collections include student books and dummies, 1950s company photo books and early 20th century industry and trade catalogues.
