Lonneke van der Palen (1985, NL) is an Amsterdam-based photographer. Driven by a fascination for mundane scenes and our interactions with objects, she seeks a renewed way of seeing, capturing everyday subjects with equal interest and attention. Through the magnification of detail, Van der Palen transforms found objects into protagonists of material culture, exploring alternative aesthetic modes within contemporary life.
In recent years Van der Palen's work has been exhibited at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, Museum JAN, Nederlands Fotomuseum and Unseen, among others. She has also contributed to several international magazines such as Numéro, Le Monde d’Hermès, and Wallpaper* and produced work for clients such as Chloé, Maison Margièla, and Paco Rabanne.
