Batuhan Keskiner is a multi-disciplinary photographer, filmmaker, and educator currently based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In 2021, he graduated from a Master programme ‘Photography and Society’ at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague.
In his artistic practice, he investigates power structures with a primary focus on the relations between the state and the individual. His main interests are the visual communication strategies of propaganda and its role in the construction of narratives around nationalism, militarism, and patriotic myths. His practice uses technology and lens-based media to engage with the intersection of image-making and contemporary politics.
Besides working on independent projects and commissions, Batuhan currently teaches Photography Technical Skills and Moving Image at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK).
