On 28 and 29 April 2016, the annual conference of the Society for Artistic Research (SAR) will take place at the Royal Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.
This year’s conference will address the theme Writing. In workshops, demonstrations, performances, discussions, open sessions and on-the-spot encounters, the conference will contribute to the ongoing development of the relationship between practice and writing in the context of artistic research.
Keynote presentations will be held by leading experts, including Christa-Maria Lerm Hayes, Alva Noë, Redell Olsen, Michael Schwab and Salomé Voegelin.
Furthermore, the conference includes parallel workshop sessions, organized in four thematic strands:
'The Poetics of Critical Writing',
'Writing Sound Art/Music',
'Writing Art in Digital Space' and
'Art, Philosophy, Writing and Speech'.
The registration for the International Conference on Artistic Research will open on 22 February 2016.
Members of SAR (both individual and institutional) will have the opportunity to pre-register between 15-22 February.
Since the University of the Arts, The Hague is listed as institutional member of SAR, this opportunity also applies to faculty and staff members of KABK & KC. Given that there is only a limited amount of places available, it is advisable to register as soon as possible.
