EXPOSED / the Textile Show 2023

opening EXPOSED / the Textile Show

Friday 22 September from 5 to 8 PM

You are cordially invited on Friday 22 September for the festive opening of EXPOSED / the Textile Show, the annual presentation of the Textile & Fashion department of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.

In recent years, the work of both our Fashion and Textile students has been presented during Exposed, but since both disciplines have their own dynamics and attention span, we decided to split Exposed this year.

Last June, our fashion students presented their work during the Fashion show and now we give the stage to our Textile students! During EXPOSED / the Textile Show, the work of all our Textile students will be shown in the form of an exhibition. From the first investigative and experimental steps in year 1 to outspoken and personal projects by our brand-new alumni Vivianne von Arx, Funda Göçer and Xiaoyu Wen.

Last June Xiaoyu Wen won the 'Keep an Eye Textile & Fashion Scholarship'. This financial support will be invested in further education to kickstart her career after the academy. Her graduation work, an investigative project on visualizing the sound of textile, can be seen during Exposed.

The exhibition takes place in 'The Grey Space in the Middle' in the center of The Hague and is open to everyone. The work of our students will be on display during 2 weekends.

To festively open this first edition of EXPOSED / the Textile Show we hope to see you Friday 22 September from 5 to 8PM to raise a glass with us.
