Mensenrechtentulp 2015

In opdracht van het Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken hebben studenten Grafisch Ontwerpen samengewerkt aan site specific installaties ten ere van de zes Mensenrechtentulp 2015 kandidaten.

You have the right to be informed’

In ‘You have the right to be informed’, comprising an installation, animation and flyer, the students captured the essence of the different areas in which the nominated human right defenders operate; from freedom of education and speech to equality and no more slavery. The project was the result of an extensive research into the subject of Human Rights in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and communication office Podium. The Human Rights Tulip was awarded to IRA-Mauritania, an organisation from Mauritania that is working to abolish slavery. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bert Koenders presented the prize to Abidine Merzough, the European representative of IRA-Mauritania.

Participating Graphic Design students: Malik Saïb-Mezghiche, Evy van Schelt, Dana Doorenbos, Shen Fan, Léo Gauttier and Daan Retel (Design Office elective)

Design Office (DO) is an elective course within the Graphic Design study programme at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague taught by Gijsbert Dijker and Chantal Hendriksen.
