Rana Ghavami is a researcher and teacher living in Amsterdam. Currently she is a tutor at Master Industrial Design and teaches the IST lab Objects in relation together with Rosa te Velde at KABK, The Hague.
In her research as well as in her teaching, she is committed to fostering spaces in which design, research and their histories are studied in tandem with everyday practices of emancipation and care. At the heart of her teaching is the interplay between the stories we tell, the memories and imaginations we ignite, and the frictions that theoretical frameworks introduce as they expand upon those material realities.
