Raimond Wouda

Raimond Wouda uses photography to explore the dynamics of human behavior and how we interact with each other in public spaces; from young people in schools, to the wider public as they go about their daily routines in city squares and also the confining spaces of an audience. Wouda is interested to see how we inhabit these different spaces and create our society.

His latest work shows a strong interest in the social behavior in the context of the urban landscape and its connection to spatial planning, and how this is designed by political choices.

Wouda has published six books of his long-term projects: Texel, School and Ext.-Int. Sandrien and Adam Doc’K are created in collaboration with photographer, Henk Wildschut. His latest project Polder VIII about the neighborhood where his family grew up, is published in 2021.

Wouda’s photographs have been exhibited in many international museums and photo festivals including: Recontres d’Arles (FR), Lewis Glucksman Gallery (IRE), Pac, Milano (IT), Musee d L’Elysée Lausanne (CH) and Foam (NL) and his images are included in a number of public and private collections.
