Jesse Greulich

Designer

Jesse Greulich is a research-oriented designer, maker, and educator based in The Hague. With a Master of Education in Arts from the Piet Zwart Institute, Willem de Kooning Academy and a Bachelor of Interior Architecture and Furniture Design at the KABK, her work is grounded in the value of heritage craft and explores how traditional practices can be reimagined within contemporary contexts as tools for learning.

Jesse works with recycled, cultivated, and excavated materials to develop new methods of representation and spark dialogue around cultural heritage through land-based craft. Her practice fosters spaces for collaboration, connection and co-creation, aiming to inspire a more holistic approach to material use and methodology.

Jesse also teaches a number of preparatory courses at the KABK in The Hague, is coordinator of the Kunstplan programme and contributes to the Interior Architecture and Furniture Design department curriculum. Additionally, she is a part of the Painting Plants team in Amsterdam, an open-source research garden.

She has exhibited at the XVII Tallinn Design Festival in Tallinn, Estonia, ‘Festa di Piante, di Storie e di Mostre’, Villafredda di Tarcento, Italy and in the Netherlands at OBJECT Rotterdam, TENT in Rotterdam, Framer Framed and W139 in Amsterdam. Upcoming exhibitions include Dutch Design Week, London Design Fair, and the Cultural & Creative Industry Expo in Hangzhou, China.
