Krijn Christiaansen (1978, NL) is an artist and designer. He worked on commissioned assignments and competitions for the public space and participated in residency programs focusing on material- and field research.

In 2010 they founded their multifaceted practice KCCM.

Public spaces and landscapes constitute both the receptacle of common experience and a realm for encountering difference. Its spaces are both banal and delightful; both everyday and filled with contingency. Such spaces form the primary field of action for Krijn Christiaansen and Cathelijne Montens, whose practice explores the ways public spaces and landscapes are made by, used by, lived in, transformed and shaped by human and non-human species. Their attention is directed not only to the physical forms of the built environment, but also encompasses the stories, myths, habits and gestures that suffuse it.

Field research plays an important role in the work of KCCM. They also explored this aspect of the creative process with students through related workshops and courses in the Netherlands and abroad. At the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague they have been teaching at various courses in different years. At the Gerrit Rietveld Academy Amsterdam Cathelijne is associated with the designLAB department.
