Today, we form our bonds in a fast-paced, algorithmically entangled environment, where search and research are amalgamated, attention is fragmented and hybrid, and new kinds of creativity emerge from an online wandering through signs, data and sensations. The techno-capitalist platforms this environment operates in obscure their own functioning and close down the possibilities to connect and share online. It seems futile to convince anyone that this is bad, most of us already know. The issue is that we know little else.
PLATFORM MANIA looks at how these platforms operate, to stimulate the imagination so we might create something else. It is an experiment in new ways of social bonding, in the middle of the ever-growing enshittification of platforms.
