Klaus Jung
Klaus Jung is an artist, educator and art school manager.He studied fine art at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1973 to 1979, with an additional year at the sculpture department of the Royal College of Art in London. After establishing a studio practice as artist in Düsseldorf he started his engagement for Higher Art Education in 1989, when he moved to Trondheim to teach and to fulfil the role as rector at Kunstakademiet i Trondheim. He was rector of Kunsthøgskolen i Bergen from 1996 to 2002. Following his time in Bergen he became head of the school of fine art at Glasgow School of Art from 2002 to 2009 and rector of Kunsthochschule für Medien in Cologne from 2009 to 2014. Klaus Jung has been vice-president of the European League of institutes of the Arts (ELIA) from 2008 to 2012. Since 2015 he is head of the fine art department at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague. He lives and works in Düsseldorf and The Hague.
