All international students should have a good level of English: IELTS 6, TOEFL 80 (internet-based test) or TOEFL 550 (paper-based test). (IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System, TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language).

In order to be able to study at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK) you need to master the English language at an intermediate level, comparable to an IELTS score of 6 (overall score) or TOEFL 80 (internet-based test) or TOEFL 550 (paper-based test).

  • EU/EEA candidates:
    EU/EEA candidates' English language level will be assessed during their interview/entry examination day.
  • Non-EU/EEA candidates:
    Non-EU/EEA candidates are required to provide proof of English language proficiency by uploading their official test score certificate during the application process.
    Deadline to submit a proof of English language proficiency: 13 June 2021

    Students from countries where English is the official language, e.g. USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zeeland, are exempted from submitting an English proficiency test.

You can study at the KABK as an international free mover/visiting student. The application procedure is the same as for Erasmus students.
