Cecilia Bengtsson (1984) is a Swedish artist, educator and chair of the study programme committee at the KABK. Cecilia is combining an artistic practice with teaching and larger educational questions.
Cecilia studied a BA Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam and has completed the Artistic Research Master at KABK, The Hague.
In her personal work she makes sculptural performances, video works and events where she tries to understand the formation of the self and the drawing boundary that conceives the ‘other’. Departing from a notion of loss she explores the interrelation between forming entities and singular and communal experiences. She has exhibited and worked as an artist in various contexts including de Appel and Lumen Travo, STROOM and Inter Art Centre.
Having a background in classical music, Cecilia studied a BA Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam and has completed the Artistic Research Master in the Hague.
