Admission requirements Master Non Linear Narrative

Interested applicants should preferably have a background in graphic design with a graphic design bachelor to prove that. Students from other disciplines with a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of design (for example architecture, film or journalism) - are welcome to apply. Where necessary, admitted students from other disciplines are offered a Clinic - a crash course in a specific field - to acquire, for example, the necessary proficiency in programming.

General requirements

In order to apply for the master’s Fine Arts & Design Non Linear Narrative at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, candidates

  • must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field and
  • be proficient in both spoken and written English.
    Level of English: IELTS 6, TOEFL 80 (internet-based test) or TOEFL 550 (paper-based test).
    Non-EEA candidates are required to provide proof of English Language proficiency.

Specific requirements

  • Digital portfolio and
  • Artistic statement of 150 – 400 words

Application deadlines

The Master Non Linear Narrative processes applications on a rolling basis from October to May, until all positions in the cohorts are filled. We work in 2 batches:

Priority deadline:
1 March

Final deadline:
1 May
