General Requirements

  • Candidates must be BA or MA graduates of an art or design academy or an equivalent education
  • Level of English: IELTS 6, TOEFL 80 (internet-based test) or TOEFL 550 (paper-based test).
    Non-EEA candidates are required to provide proof of English Language proficiency.

Specific Requirements

You are expected to have developed an interdisciplinary approach to interior architecture, to feel a fascination for human needs and behaviour in a world whose social and cultural parameters are constantly changing, and to be well informed about recent developments in your specific field.

You will be requested to present your reasons for wishing to enrol in the Master Interior Architecture on the basis of the following required documents:

The portfolio should give an impression of your motivation, ideas and skills relevant for a Master in interior architecture. Your PDF portfolio contains relevant work of your BA study and/or working experience or other creative activities like drawings, paintings, projects with renderings, pictures of models. Look for inspiration at the graduation projects of our alumni and INSIDE magazines before composing your portfolio and don’t forget to include relevant initiatives you took and projects you have built outside your computer.

File specifications digital portfolio: PDF in 10-20 pages, max 5 MB (larger files are not accepted).

In the letter of motivation, we want you to give an overview of your current design activities and to describe your vision for the future. We would also like to know why you have chosen to apply for the Master Interior Architecture INSIDE.

A comprehensive statement of your educational background, relevant experience, skills and accomplishments.

Application deadlines

The Master Interior Architecture (INSIDE) processes applications on a rolling basis from October to May, until all positions in the cohorts are filled. We work in 2 batches:

Priority deadline:
1 March

We encourage you to submit your application by 1 March 2019. By the final deadline of 1 May, there is a possibility that a waiting list will have already been formed.

Final deadline:
1 May

Note: The application deadline entails registration via Studielink and submission of required documents incl. portfolio. Please note that it will take some time to upload a full application.
