Deadline for submission of your digital application is 3 May 2021 (for candidates from outside and within the EU/EEA).

The above deadline entails registration via Studielink (step 1) and submission of your portfolio and all the required documents (step 2) of the application procedure as described below.

Please note that, due to the scope of the current Coronavirus, alternative channels for the application interviews are offered for prospective students. It is possible that application interviews will run via Skype or FaceTime. You will be informed by Student Administration or the department.

Studielink is the common registration and enrolment application system for all non-private institutions of higher education in the Netherlands.

  • Create a Studielink account: provide personal details (as stated in your passport or ID card) and previous educational information (studies, diplomas and exam results).

Official residents of the Netherlands have to use their DigiD to login to Studielink.
International students create an account with their own username and password.
  • Once your account is created you can ‘add a new enrolment’ by indicating the study programme of your choice under the ‘University of Applied Sciences – Royal Academy/Royal Conservatoire The Hague’. Follow carefully the steps and at the end confirm your application.

Detailed instructions are provided on the website of Studielink to assist you with the procedure.
Please note! Once you've submitted your application in Studielink, you will receive an automatic reply in your mailbox with the subject "Upload the required documents". Check your spam box if you have not received it within 3 minutes.

After your enrolment via Studielink is confirmed, you will receive an e-mail by the Student Administration of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague. In this e-mail, you’ll find your personal login info, which will grant you access to the academy’s own online application system Osiris, where you can add a link to your digital submission.

We ask you to prepare a Dropbox folder with all the material inside of it. We explicitly don’t want you to share the folder with us. In the application procedure there will be a field where you can add the url-link of your Dropbox folder.

Your digital submission should include:

  • your letter of motivation
  • your resume
  • your portfolio
  • your assignment description including the (audiovisual) sketches

All written materials should be in Dutch or English. Detailed information about the requested material can be found under the Specific requirements section on the Admission requirements page.

You will be able to adjust and work on your dropbox folder all the way until the 3rd of May. Even once you have finalized the entire registration, you can still adjust and add things to your digital submission.

If you have any questions regarding the ArtScience programme and/or the admission process please contact the Interfaculty Admissions staff.

Selected candidates will be invited to an online admission interview (via Skype, Zoom or Teams) to take place in the week of 17 May (please note that this is one week earlier than previously communicated).

After the admission interview you will be informed whether or not you are admitted to our programme. All students who are offered a spot into our programme will need to upload some supporting documents to complete their enrolment. These documents include:

  • Copy of your passport* (a scanned version of pages with photo and personal information)
  • Copy of your high school and/or bachelor diploma (if applicable)
  • A profile picture (to print on your student card)
  • Proof of English proficiency (for non-EEA students only)

*if you have a double nationality, please add a copy of your second passport as well

Your official enrolment at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK) is completed upon payment of the tuition fees. Related information will be sent to you by our student administration office via e-mail.

Once you are officially registered as a student at the KABK, you will receive your student card and a proof of enrolment.

International students can find practical information on what to arrange before and during their stay in The Netherlands.
