The application deadline for study year 2025 – 2026 was 1 March, but you can still apply until 1 May.

We will first process all applications submitted before the 1 March deadline. We expect plenty of spots to be available, so feel free to apply until 1 May. Because we do understand that the shift of the deadline from 1 May to 1 March was not known to everybody.

To meet the application deadline, you must first register in Studielink (step 1) and then provide the required documents including a portfolio (as outlined in Step 2).

Studielink is the common registration and enrolment application system for all non-private institutions of higher education in the Netherlands.

  • Official residents of the Netherlands have to use their DigiD to login to Studielink.
  • International students create an account with their own username and password.
Create a Studielink account: provide personal details (as stated in your passport or ID card) and previous educational information (studies, diplomas and exam results).
  • Once your account is created, you can ‘add a new enrolment application’. Indicate the study programme of your choice from the list generated when you choose ‘Royal Academy of Art / Royal Conservatoire’ in the drop down menu 'Educational Institution'. Follow carefully the steps and at the end confirm your application.

Detailed instructions are provided on the website of Studielink to assist you with the procedure.

Please note: you must also follow the application procedure in step 2 to be considered for admission. Once you've submitted your application in Studielink, you will receive an automatic reply in your mailbox with the subject "Upload the required documents". Check your spam box if you have not received it within a day.

Registration in Studielink only is not sufficient. Both processes must be completed by the deadlines stated above.

After your enrolment in Studielink is confirmed, you will receive an e-mail by the Student Administration of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague. In this e-mail, you’ll find your personal login info, which will grant you access to the academy’s own online application system Osiris, where you can add a link to your digital submission.

You are requested to prepare a digital submission using Dropbox. All written materials should be in Dutch or English. Detailed information about the requested material can be found under the Specific requirements section on the Admission requirements page.

We ask you to prepare a Dropbox folder with all the materials. Make sure that anyone with the link has access to the folder, we explicitly don’t want you to share the folder with us. Check that you have all the required documents ready in the Dropbox folder and copy paste the link tot he Dropbox folder in the application system.

Selected candidates will be invited to an admission interview and will be notified by email about the results.

If you completed your application by the deadline of 1 March, you will receive a notification whether you will be invited for an interview mid March 2025. The interviews will be planned on 31 March, 1 April, 3 April and 4 April 2025.

You will receive the results of your entrance exam by the end of April 2025.

For the remaining spots, we will assess the applications received between 1 March and 1 May. You will hear whether you are invited for an interview by the second week of May at the latest.

After the admission interview you will be informed whether or not you are admitted to our programme. All students who are offered a spot into our programme will need to upload some supporting documents to complete their enrolment. These documents include:

Your official enrolment at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK) is completed upon payment of the tuition fees. Related information will be sent to you by our student administration office via e-mail.
