PLEASE NOTE: Applications from non-EU/EEA students will not be considered, since the KABK cannot arrange a residence permit for non-EU/EEA applicants for the Preparatory Year course.

In order to start your application at the Preparatory Year of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK), you need to create an account in our online application system Osiris. During the application procedure, you will have to upload a copy of your passport or identification card. Please make sure these files are ready to upload before you start the application process.

Once your enrolment via Osiris is confirmed, you will receive an e-mail by our Student Administration with detailed information about the next steps of the application procedure.

Please note: The KABK cannot arrange a residence permit for non-EU/EEA Preparatory Year candidates.

You will receive an invitation by our Student Administration Office for making an appointment for an intake interview – admission day taking place at the KABK.

For the admission day, you will be asked to 

  • Bring your Portfolio
  • Setup a presentation of your work
  • Complete an assignment at the Academy

The examination committee will review your portfolio, presentation and assignment and you will be notified after a few days, if you are admitted to the Preparatory Year at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague.

Your official enrolment at the Preparatory Year is completed upon payment of the tuition fees. The costs of participating in the Preparatory Year for 2017-2018 is € 2050 (that includes some excursions and visits to theater performances and movies at the Filmhuis). Related information about the official enrolment will be sent to you by our student administration office via e-mail.

Please note: Participants in the Preparatory Year are not registered as regular students, and they do not receive financial assistance for students.
