Francesco Bernardelli is a critic, writer, and curator of contemporary art and performing arts, and based in Turin. His interests are primarily with the relationships between visual arts, time-based media and experimental music.

From 1999 until 2005 Francesco curated the film program of Castello di Rivoli Contemporary Art Museum, Turin; and the 2007 – 2011 editions of Video.it video festival in Turin and Milan. He curated the exhibition Split Subjects at De Appel, Amsterdam (2005); Figures of Excess in the Beursschouwburg, Brussels (2006). He has written innumerable reviews and articles, and in 2016, published Contemporary art scene. From the space of the work to the space around the work, with co-author Francesco Poli.

Francesco studied the history and criticism of Cinema at the University of Turin, and graduated from the Curatorial Training Program of De Appel, Amsterdam in 2002. He teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts, Turin, and is a regular guest of the MA Artistic Research.
