Part-time Compact programme
Next to our Full-time programme (ft), we offer Part-time Compact programme (ptc), both being four-year studies.
One of the few part-time BA Photography programmes offered in Europe, it’s an exciting opportunity for students with an independent drive and lived experiences who want to study photography in a highly engaged peer group next to other commitments (like work or family) that only allow two-days per week commitment to classes. Many of our part-time students are already working in the photography field but aspire to transform their work into an artistic practice.
The content of the part-time compact programme, its study load and intensity are comparable to the full-time programme, which is also reflected in the same number of ECTS credits (and, therefore, study hours) in both programmes. It means you are expected to have time-management and organisational skills to augment compact class hours by autonomous study during the remaining time in the week.
Regular part-time compact classes are scheduled only on Mondays and Tuesdays. Plus, you need to be available approximately ten extra days per study year for workshops and extra-curriculum events. These dates are communicated in advance at the start of each academic year to assist your further planning.
In Years 3 and 4 some classes are combined with full-time classes. By the time of graduation, part-time compact programme students develop a self-directed artistic photography practice just as their full-time peers.
