KABK students & alumni at Festival Designkwartier

The 5th edition of Festival Designkwartier takes place from the 1st to the 3rd of June 2018 in The Hague. For three days, the Zeeheldenkwartier is the domain of leading designers and new talent with exciting projects, among whom, many students and alumni of the Royal academy of Art, The Hague (KABK). The inspiring route runs along about 50 diverse locations, such as pop-up stores, shops, galleries, Electriciteitsfabriek, national monument the Temple, art center Stroom Den Haag and surprising places such as courtyards, houses and industrial warehouses.

During the Festival Designkwartier, KABK students and alumni participate, among other events, in the following exhibitions and presentations:

  • My Practice, My Politics at Stroom Den Haag, with selected KABK alumni who presented their work in the Milan Design Week during Salone del Mobile in April
  • Long live the new flesh, the design collective of the graduating students of the Interior Architecture & Furniture Design department present a preview of their graduation projects
  • Nostalgie presentation by Graphic Design alumni of the design Studio Lennnarts & De Bruijn
  • 3rd year bachelor Interior Architecture & Furniture Design students present the single issue Landscape magazine
  • Uptime exhibition and lecture programme by artist collective Satellietgroep in collaboration with NEST
  • Haptopia by alumna Interior Architecture & Furniture Design Noortje de Brouwer
  • Pop-up presentatie FestivalAnalog Patronen at the Grafische Werkplaats with work by i.e. Christie van der Haak
  • Post Modern with work by i.e. alumnus Graphic Design Jordy van den Nieuwendijk
  • Repair, Re-use & Reduce shop with work by i.e. Jasmijn Muskens
