Artist talks, presentations & opening party - Milan 19 April
Artist talks & presentations in the context of My Practice, My Politics exhibition on view at the Milan Design Week during the Salone del Mobile 2018.
Participating artists & designers, all recent graduates of the Royal Academy of Art (KABK), present their projects and engage in conversations with the curators of the exhibition and the heads of the Art & Design departments.
3:00 - 3:45pm
Presentation by Bas Froon (Industrial Design, 2017). With a discussion on (re)designing industry by Maaike Roozenburg, head of the master department Industrial Design.
Bas Froon will present his micromoulding machine, part of his quest to make local production of labour-intensive 'soft' products possible.
4:00 - 4:45pm
Presentation by Klaus Jung, head of the bachelor department Fine Arts.
Klaus Jung will introduce the ethos of the Fine Art department and talk about the specific aims of the curriculum. The presentation will contain thoughts about higher education in Fine Art in the 21st century. Klaus will also make an attempt to point out what makes education in Fine Art differ from other creative disciplines.
