Pien Kars (Graphic Design, 2019) and Mika Schalks (Graphic Design, 2021) collaborated on the film Knor. This film won in the Best Film category. In addition, Mascha Halberstad (direction & production) won in the category Best Production Design and Best Direction.

Louis Braddock Clarke (Graphic Design, 2019) and Zuzanna Zgierska (Graphic Design, 2020) collaborated on the production LAWKI (Life as We Know It). LAWKI is a production of ACPA PhD student Roosje Klap (Atelier Roosje Klap (ARK)). The production is the winner in the category Best Digital Culture Production.

Knor

The first full-length stop motion film in the Netherlands is one to eat, according to the Film Festival website. For her ninth birthday, Babs receives the piglet Knor from her grandfather from America. Much to her parents' chagrin, because Piglet is quite a poo monster. Babs is only allowed to keep him on the condition that Piglet attends puppy training. But Grandpa turns out to have a hidden agenda in this Roald Dahl-esque story (based on Tosca Menten's The Revenge of Knor). Knor is not only the first full-length stop motion film by animator Mascha Halberstad, but also by the Netherlands. The typical Dutch details give it a unique atmosphere, which was also appreciated abroad - including in Berlin, where the film was the first Dutch animated feature to be selected for the Berlinale.

LAWKI

Artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms compose a state-of-the-art custom opera from trillions of hours of online video content. As a participant, you literally and figuratively set this whole wonderful thing in motion.

Reality does not exist, and if it does, this automated audiovisual artwork creates a different performance for every moment, time and individual. LAWKI allows human and machine to merge into one voice, whereby the algorithm constantly creates new compositions from countless of hours of specially composed audio and online video material. The result is a truly unique "opera" that is never the same, presenting the world around us in all its confusing craziness on nearly a hundred screens. The world spins on and on and on, but just when you think you understand it, it has already changed again. The enchanting and perhaps also disturbing experience raises important questions, such as whether artificial intelligence works for or against us and whether we are still in charge of our own imaginations.
