In the context of the PlayLab elective, our 2nd and 3rd year Graphic Design students conclude their semester-long exploration of the Ornamental Divine with the exhibition THE GALLERY DIVINE.

The PlayLab elective, taught by Roosje Klap and Job Wouters kicked-off with a Symposium in the Artis Bibliotheek in Amsterdam in September with guest speakers: Hans Mulder, Alexander Reeuwijk, Maarten Cornel, Neil vd Linden and Eefje Blankevoort. After a wonderful October roundtrip in Iran, PlayLab Graphic Design students present a guilt-free renaissance in which tendrils creep, petals unfurl and geometric patterns abound. We honour our heroes in this immersive exploration of the grid.

The exhibition opens on Friday 8 December in the KABK Gallery.
Alice Twemlow, Lector Design at the KABK will give the opening speech about the decriminalisation of the ornament.

Everyone is welcome!

In the meantime follow the project @theornamentaldivine on Instagram :-)

We thank Boels Rental for sponsoring the exhibition
