Masterclass Hella Jongerius - students work on assignment

A selected group of students work independently on the assignment given by Hella Jongerius in the context of the Hella Jongerius Masterclass . For inspiration they visit the exhibitions ‘Less is More’ and 'Louise Bourgeois - To Unravel a Torment' in Museum Voorlinden.

This Masterclass is powered by Keep an Eye Foundation.

Programme

Monday 18 November 11:00-13:00 – Exhibition visit ‘Less is More’ and 'Louise Bourgeois - To Unravel a Torment' at the Museum Voorlinden
‘Less is More’ manifests the renewed interest in movements from the 1960s, such as minimal art and ZERO, artists are once again seizing on minimalistic principles including reuse, organisation and reduction. The exhibition demonstrates how artists are returning to the essence of things: a new start and a clean slate.

Louise Bourgeois (1911-2010) was a radical figure who pursued her own course with wit, intelligence, and daring – at times out of step with prevailing taste and ideas. Today she is recognised as an icon of late 20th century art, who combined personal narrative and psychological insight with extraordinary artistic innovations.

Tuesday 19 November
KABK students work independently on the assignment.

Wednesday 20 November
KABK students work independently on the assignment.
Hella Jongerius provides feedback to the students and makes a selection of the works to be presented during the happening-event at Voorlinden on Thursday 21 November.
