Ludmila Rodrigues (she/her) works as an artist, designer, scenographer, lecturer and sometimes performer, bridging architecture, perception and ritual. Originally from Rio de Janeiro (Brazil, 1979), she holds a bachelor degree in Architecture and Urban Planning by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, BR, 2007), a bachelor by the ArtScience Interfaculty (KABK, NL, 2013) and MFA by the Art Sense(s) Lab (magna cum laude) by Art Sense(s) Lab (PXL-MAD, BE, 2018).
Rodrigues investigates the entanglement of social interactions, environment and sensory experience. She is focused in enhancing human communication, exploring ways of learning through the body. Through the design of performative spaces and choreographic spaces, her works function as open platforms for relation, inviting for audience as co-creator of the experience. She has shown works at the Netherlands Dance Theater, Cinekid Festival, Gothenburg Opera, Space Media Festival (Taipei), FILE (São Paulo), Schema Art Museum (Cheongju), among others.
She has been a frequent guest lecturer at different departments of the KABK since 2015, a docent of the KABK Kunstplan (Voortrajecten) from 2019 to 2023, coordinator of Non Linear Narrative's final exhibition show till 2024 and is currently teaching the Material Lab at the master's Non Linear Narrative. Rodrigues runs a studio at Quartair Contemporary Art Initiatives, The Hague, where she also organises exhibitions, artists' meetings and workshops.
