Jeannette Slütter (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist based in The Hague, NL. She studied Fine Arts and Photography at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague and earned a Master’s degree from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
Her diverse practice investigates systems – both inside and outside the art world – with a particular interest in their relationship to architecture. These systems include explicit structures like rules and floor plans, as well as the implicit norms that often go unnoticed. Guided by curiosity, her work embraces vulnerability, revealing moments when systems behave unexpectedly and weaving narratives that render them tangible and relatable.
The environment – whether an exhibition space, residency, or specific site – plays a vital role in shaping her work. Through site-specific installations, she tells stories using performance, ceramics, glass, metal, photography, and video. She has collaborated with spaces such as Das Leben am Haverkamp, MORPHO and Kunsthal Extra City (Antwerp), Glass Museum Denmark, Amsterdam Ferry Festival, and the Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam.
In 2025, she co-designed the exhibition layout for the Dutch Pavilion at the International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia, in collaboration with Koos Breen. She is currently conducting research for a permanent work at the Glass Museum in Ebeltoft, Denmark.
