Kobolt Radio is an online radio station founded by Camilla Kövecses. From July 1-5, the radio station broadcasts a daily show focused on spoken word and oral storytelling. The station’s aim is to spread spoken word and oral storytelling beyond institutions and closed communities, to reach listeners without being limited by physical, hierarchic or socio-economic restrictions.

Kobolt Radio’s daily main programme is composed of spoken word pieces, written and recited by the radio’s founder Camilla Kövecses. The pieces are constructed of time-specific headlines from news sites, ranging from the presence of just a few words, to in other instances making up the whole piece. In the recitals, Camilla inhabits different fictional characters’ (the reporter, the activist and the consumer) responses to the news.

How can oral storytelling aid to consider the hierarchical structures of news fabrication and its consumption? What effect does this have on knowledge production and emotional acknowledgments?
