IA&FD x PRADA: FAUX FUR

In the context of the Improvised Building, a hands-on education course, offered to 2nd year students of the Bachelor Interior Architecture & Furniture Design , 27 international students were involved, and coached to do material research, learn about construction techniques, and taught about how to position their ideas and concepts.

In 2020-2021 academic year, Improvised Building was dedicated to exploring the relationship between the natural and the artificial. Both process and end result counted as equally important:

After all, recognising and assessing multiple iterations during a design process are fundamental to the success of each project.

FAUX FUR: THE ARTIFICIAL MERGING WITH THE NATURAL

Through Prada’s generous offer, the students had the opportunity to explore the potential of artificial fur, combined with developing and placing work in The Hague forest (het Haagse Bos), an historical forest less than one kilometer away from the academy. Close to the forest are the palace grounds of Huis ten Bosch, the Dutch King’s residence.
