KABK Alums 'Nice Flaps' Open New Centre for Drawing

Nice Flaps began as an experimental life drawing initiative within the walls of KABK. Now Master Artistic Research alums Annemarie Wadlow and Alejandra López are opening their own project space.

Everything That Drawing Can Be

Everything That Drawing Can Be, is the inaugural exhibition at Nice Flaps’ new physical project and exhibition space in The Hague dedicated to drawing.

To mark six years of nomadic programming, Nice Flaps are bringing together thirteen artists who have been important collaborators and central to their community. Many have worked on experimental drawing sessions, performances and workshops, while others have supported the initiative behind-the-scenes, in quieter but equally important ways. This exhibition honours those relationships and the community that has helped Nice Flaps arrive at this new stage.

Establishing themselves as a Centre for Drawing in The Hague, they open with a show that considers the vital role drawing plays across diverse artistic practices and celebrates the many forms it can take. Drawing often lives inside practices without necessarily being exhibited or discussed as a central element. By presenting artists with distinct approaches, Everything That Drawing Can Be reveals the breadth and relevance of drawing within contemporary art.
