Vibeke Gieskes (Texel, 1971) is an educator, independent advisor, curator, writer and editor in the field of the arts and (landscape) architecture. She has extensive teaching experience as a theory, history and writing tutor at different art and architecture schools (amongst which the KABK, Academy of Architecture Amsterdam and Gerrit Rietveld Academy).
In her courses, she focuses on the process and the simultaneous engagement with practical making, reflection, writing and theoretical research. She has guided numerous (graduate) students, wrote, compiled and edited various publications, curated several exhibitions and worked as a project manager. Vibeke Gieskes studied Arts and Culture Studies at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, History of Architecture and Theory at the Université Lumière II and the École d’Architecture in Lyon.
Students, working with Vibeke are supported in identifying and delineating a (personal) fascination, that will provide a starting point for further making and artistic research
