María Luz Nóchez is an award-winning Salvadoran investigative journalist and editor currently based in the Netherlands. She spent most of her career at El Faro — El Salvador's leading investigative newsroom — where she reported for over a decade on disinformation, gender, and political repression in Central America, and coordinated and edited the Opinion section until 2023.
Alongside her reporting, María Luzhas led cross-border collaborations and editorial projects with the International Women's Media Foundation and Free Press Unlimited, focusing on coverage of women's and LGBTQI+ rights.
