Collette Rayner

Programme coordinator

Collette Rayner is an artist and writer. Collette worked at the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague as coordinator Fine Arts from November 2021 to February 2024.

Working between Scotland and the Netherlands and Scotland she works with film, experimental animation, artists publications and drawing. Over the last five years her work has investigated critical relationships to phenomena, re-enactment and the sharing of niche knowledge.

Collette studied at The Glasgow School of Art and The Academy of Arts Architecture and Design in Prague, before graduating with an MFA from the Piet Zwart institute in 2018.

She has undertaken residencies at Yellow Brick, Athens; Standpoint, London; Hospitalfields, Arbroath and Studio Voltaire, London.

Her work has been exhibited and shared by Life, Rotterdam; The Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh; 3 137, Athens; Sea Foundation, Tilburg; Two Queens, Leicester; Bloc Projects, Sheffield; Standpoint, London and Collective, Edinburgh.

Publications of her writing include 45th Parallel Literary Journal, Portland; Hoax, London; Map Magazine, Edinburgh, Gutter Literary journal, Glasgow.

Previously she has worked in a programming and administrative role at Kunstinstituut Melly, Rotterdam Schemerlicht Festival, Nijmegen, Tent, Rotterdam and Glasgow International Festival.

She is currently in the process of establishing a new residency space with her partner in rural Scotland.
