The Royal Academy of Art (KABK) is looking for a temporary candidate for replacement for Coordinator Bachelor-wide education (0.4-0.5 FTE).

What will you do?
- Coordinate and facilitate the daily implementation of the educational program, including booking rooms, registering student data and keeping track of the overall development of the process;
- Act as the first point of contact for students, teachers and guest lecturers;
- Be responsible for communicating and providing information to stakeholders, both internal and external. This includes organising the Common Place event, contributing to KABK Open Days, and handling registrations and admissions for the program. Furthermore, you are involved in creating content for social media, the website and the academy’s internal means of communication. Which might include video and photo documentation;
- Monitor implementation and execution of the programs, advise on and support new developments and the application of necessary changes;
- Take care of the administrative process of education, maintain an overview and monitor the study progress of students;
- Responsible for the organisation of the evaluation process and yearly reports regarding academy-wide education.
Your profile
- You are highly committed to working within a developing community of students, teachers and alumni;
- You have strong organisational, communicative and administrative skills and experience in a similar position, preferably in art education;
- You work independently and proactively. You have excellent communication skills in English and Dutch, and the competency to interact with a community of students and teachers from varied cultural backgrounds, social identities and gender expressions;
- You’re eligible to work in the Netherlands (work permit) under an employment contract;
- You have an affinity with interdisciplinarity in art, design, and education;
- You are comfortable with a wide range of design and software skills (video editing, graphic design, Excel);
- You are sensitive to the perspectives of students and teachers and to the complexities of the KABK organisation
The Royal Academy of Art (KABK) forms together with the Royal Conservatoire (KC) the University of the Arts, The Hague. We offer HBO bachelor and master education, as well as preparatory courses. There is an intensive collaboration with Leiden University: students can take electives on both sides, there is a PhD program. The University of the Arts is located at two locations in the center of The Hague.
The common ground programme is prepared and compiled by a lecturer, the Common Ground Lead. The IST programme is curated by one of the heads of the bachelor departments. The coordinator will work intensively with them. You report directly to the KABK directorate. Informed by organisational developments, this might change in the future.
This vacancy is now open due to the departure of the current academy-wide education coordinator. A swift start is preferred, as there is work to do towards the programs in the rest of the academic year. Meanwhile, our education is further being developed towards 2025-2026 and beyond. We would appreciate the coordinator academy-wide education to be a partner in this development process. The outcome of this education development will also influence the job of coordinator academy-wide education in the future.
What we offer you
The KABK offers you an international, inspiring and informal working environment. You will be part of an effective and committed team of coordinators working for both the bachelor and master departments This is a temporary appointment for replacement during pregnancy leave starting in October for about 4 months.
The salary amounts to a maximum of € 5,699.75 gross per month for a full-time appointment (scale 10), depending on education and work experience. The cao-hbo has a generous leave scheme, 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus. You can also participate in health insurance and/or disability insurance on favorable conditions. Your work will have to be planned according to the dynamic of education, with peak- and slow times. Your average will be working 2 to 2.5 days a week for a total of 0.4-0.5 FTE per month.
