Ingrid de Bonth and Ben de Wilde appointed as new members of the Supervisory Board
4 November 2024
After an extensive procedure, two new members of the Supervisory Board were appointed last year: Ingrid de Bonth and Ben de Wilde. The Supervisory Board is the employer of the Executive Board and is tasked with supervising the Board's policy.
This expands the Supervisory Board to five members. The members have such a mix of experience, knowledge and expertise that they are also able to assess the various parts of the Executive Board's policy and to advise on financial, managerial, community, social, legal and other common issues.
When recruiting candidate members, the aim is to achieve a spread in age, gender and cultural diversity with a balanced distribution in terms of origin from the arts and culture sector, higher education, the business community and the public sector. The Board is composed in such a way that its members can operate independently and critically with respect to each other, the Executive Board and any particular interest.

Ingrid de Bonth is currently serving as President of the Board of Directors of Our Secondary Education. Her first four-year term as a member of our Supervisory Board began on 1 May 2024. Ingrid chairs the audit committee and is also a member of the Supervisory Board's remuneration committee. This committee gives substance to the HR cycle and remuneration of the Board and advises on long-term planning and appointment procedures for the succession of members of the Executive Board and Supervisory Board.
“For me, beauty constitutes the essence of life. To always strive for it is our mission in life. Art in all its manifestations makes this striving possible. Education at the School of Arts is aimed at enabling art to reach its full potential. It is precisely this intrinsic connection between education and art that makes my role as a member of the Supervisory Board very valuable and also very inspiring.”

Ben de Wilde joins the University of Arts with his background as foundation controller at Lucas Education The Hague. Ben is also a member of the Supervisory Board's audit committee. This committee oversees policy on finances. This includes the supervision of internal risk and control systems, compliance with laws and regulations, information security and contact with and supervision of the controller and the external auditor. His first four-year term as a member of our Supervisory Board began on 1 October 2024.
