Working under the name Foyer Brisé, Guus Kusters (1979) views industrial design through the lens of fine arts. He approaches industrial products as a vocabulary for poetry, exploring the visual and metaphorical meanings of everyday goods. In the Design Skills course, he encourages students to develop their artistic practice beyond assignments through exercises and workshops that deconstruct the design process.
Next to tutoring at Master Industrial Design (MID), Guus is a tutor at Common Ground (BA, 1st year KABK), head of Focus Ceramics (BA, 4th year, Design Academy Eindhoven) and graduation tutor (BA, 4th year, Design Academy Eindhoven).
