Friday March 13, 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Starting point 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM: Nest (De Constant Rebecqueplein 20B) Free guided tours start here at 7:00 PM.

Participating students & alums include:

Dürst Britt & Mayhew: BA Fine Arts (2009) alum Paul Beumer presents a solo exhibition of new works. It is the first time he has ventured into the realm of batik, a traditional wax-resist dyeing technique used to create intricate patterns on textiles.

EnergieKas: Alum including Nienke Roth (BA Photography, 2023), Chiel Lubbers (BA Interior Architecture & Furniture Design, 2021) and anna andrejew (BA Photography, 2024) present Change With Me, where nothing is meant to stay the same. Everything is temporary and responsive. What you touch reacts. What you taste disappears. What you hear keeps changing.

Namuso Gallery: Maja Klaassens (BA Fine Art, 2014), Paul Beumer (BA Fine Art, 2009) feature in group exhibition A Gust of Wind Gives Voice to the Trees.

Paradise: BA Fine Arts year 2 students present About 2. Including works by: Vera Morge, Moa Vrijman, Lisa Foglio, Artemis Xeniou, Nolan Razban, Elisabeth Freiberger, Ailen Meester, Ali Zidan, Dea Fredensborg, Julia Tudela Ballon, Marie Lou Honert, Sofie Nielsen, Ariadni Leventi, Liane Paldi, Catalina Scotti, Eden Roding, Victor Bachmann, Amelia Axe.

Projektruimte WEST END: Karola Pezarro (BA Interior Architecture and Furniture Design, 1979) is part of trio show DRAADJES.

Quartair: Drawing = Playing features KABK alums including Zela Odessa Palmer. (BA Fine Arts, 2022) The project space transforms into a free playground for drawing, (freedom), and research. An invitation to not only observe freedom, but to experience it: as a visitor, as a maker, and as a human being.

Huis van het Boek: Kexin Hao (BA Graphic Design, 2021) presents an overview of her work as City Illustrator. Original drawings are shown alongside visual material from her sources of inspiration in The Hague Municipal Archives and from workshops. Alongside this presentation you can also visit Apocalypse, Fear, and Hope at the museum, featuring work by Daisy Madden-Wells (Master Artistic Research, 2019).

Ruimtevaart: A three-hour long-durational performance by Meri Hietala and Jolanda Jansen (BA Fine Art, 2005), exploring our deep connections to nature, ritual, and shared cultural memory. Bringing together Finnish and Dutch customs, the artists reflect on the water that both separates their homelands and symbolically unites them.

Speechless Artspace: TROUBLEZONE includes Shooting Gallery by Frans van Hoek (BA Fine Art, 2024) : a shooting gallery like one at a fair, but now in an art space. The target: stars arranged in the colors of the flags of all countries currently experiencing a large-scale conflict, as defined by ACLED (as countries with more than 10,000 victims, 2024). To be allowed to shoot, visitors donate €10 to a charity of their choice (in a conflict zone).

Stroom: Stroom Den Haag presents the exhibition ‘Positions: Unearthing’, an anniversary edition in which four artists from The Hague – Roger Anis (Master Photography and Society, 2024), Marie Civikov, Priyageetha Dia (current student Master Artistic Research), Ben Yau (Master Photography and Society, 2023) – bring to light hidden stories, memories, and perspectives that have long remained invisible.
