PLEASE NOTE: Applications from non-EU/EEA students will not be considered, since the KABK cannot arrange a residence permit for non-EU/EEA applicants for the Preparatory Year course.

In order to start your application at the Preparatory Year of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK), you need to create an account in our online application system Osiris. During the application procedure, you will have to upload a copy of your passport or identification card. Please make sure these files are ready to upload before you start the application process.
Once your registration via Osiris is confirmed, you will receive an e-mail by our Student Administration with detailed information about the next steps of the application procedure.
Please note: The KABK cannot arrange a residence permit for non-EU/EEA Preparatory Year candidates.
After your registration has been confirmed in Osiris and you have submitted your portfolio and motivation letter, you can apply for an admission interview by using the link in the confirmation mail you received and register yourself for the first available admission day.

During the admission interview, we will assess your portfolio and will talk to you about it group-wise (with the admission committee and other candidates).
Confirmation & schedule of the day will be communicated to you by the coordinator of the Preparatory Year.
For the online admission day, you will be asked to
- Set up a presentation of your work (surround yourself with work)
- Have your portfolio or small presentation ready to share

The examination committee will review your portfolio, motivation & presentation and you will be notified after a few days if you are admitted to the Preparatory Year at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague.
Your official enrolment at the Preparatory Year is completed upon payment of the course fees. The costs of participating in the Preparatory Year include some excursions and visits to theatre performances and movies at the Filmhuis. Related information about the official enrolment will be sent to you by our student administration office via e-mail.
Please note: Participants in the Preparatory Year are not registered as regular students, and they do not receive financial assistance for students.
