Dayna Casey

Artist

Dayna Casey (Boorloo AU/NL, 1988) is an artist working across artistic research, writing, editing and graphic design. Often presented as publications, readings, or multi-media installations, her projects explore ecology and finance, bodily and earthly extraction, and reproduction and property.

Her practice is essayistic weaving of theoretical research, archival material, imagery and fictions, with a strong editorial focus. Visual languages are composed, writings are assembled, narrations are voiced, preservation methods are practiced.

With Eline Benjaminsen, Dayna develops cli-fi-fi (climate finance fiction) as a speculative genre, emerging from their collaborative publication Collapsed Mythologies: A Geofinancial Atlas (Spector Books & Page Not Found, 2025).

She holds an MA in art praxis and critical theory from the Dutch Art Institute and a BA in graphic design at KABK. She was artist-in-residence at the Jan van Eyck, tutors editorialising research at the MA Critical Inquiry Lab, has hosted guest seminars at HfG Karlsruhe and HfG Offenbach, was previously guest tutor at KASK Gent, and serves on the advisory committee of Stimuleringsfonds for Design and Talent Development.
