Lea Groeliker

Lea Groeliker is a body-oriented trauma therapist and climate psychologist with a background in the visual arts. Since September 2025, she has been working as a study coach within the Graphic Design department at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague. In this role, she supports students in managing stress, maintaining balance in their studies, and developing practical skills such as planning and study organisation.

Before retraining as a therapist, Lea worked for ten years as a photographer and visual artist under the name Studio Lea Groeliker. Her artistic work focused on themes of connection and disconnection, distance and closeness, and included visuals for clubs and cultural events. Human experience and the search for connection have always been central to her work—something that now informs her approach to student guidance.

She trained at Bodymind Opleidingen in the Netherlands and runs a private practice focused on stress, tension regulation, body awareness, and the psychological impact of the climate crisis. Lea believes the body holds valuable information and helps students and clients recognize signals of stress, create space for what needs to be felt, and move forward from there.

At KABK, she offers a low-threshold, supportive space where students can openly share what they are experiencing. With an open and curious attitude, she helps them regain perspective, direction, and a sense of agency in their learning process. Her guidance is not therapy, but grounded, practical, and closely attuned to the everyday realities of studying at an art academy.
