KABK in Shout into the crowd: Artists Work in Horeca
Shout into the crowd: Artists Work in Horeca is an exhibition showcasing artists working in the horeca (catering) department of Het Nationale Theater. From 6 September till 13 October you can find the works of KABK alums Ira Grünberger (BA Photography, 2023), Sonya Umanskaya (BA Graphic Design, 2024), Tinka Kovačič (Graphic Design, 2023) Bjarte Wildeman (Art Science, 2022) Peter Pflügler (Photography, 2021) and Enrico Carpi (BA Photography, 2024) in the foyer of Theater aan het Spui.
Curated by 'Waitingsnake Studios', which is run by Kabk alumni Clara Sharell (Photography) and Emily Stevenhagen (Artistic Research), the exhibition brings together seven artists who met working in the Horeca department at Het National Theatre.
For five weeks, accompanied by a performance programme on the 10th of September, these artists will present their projects; ranging from photography, installation, film, illustration and performance – within the building where they work.
It attempts to shine light on the combined work lives of many emerging artists, where artists often work in Horeca of cultural institutions to support themselves and their practices. It is the second edition of the series of exhibitions 'Artists work in Horeca' that began last year.
