International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination: KABK participates in World Tour The Hague

26 March 2024

The Royal Academy of Art The Hague (KABK) opened its doors for the public who attended the World Tour The Hague on Saturday 23 March. The KABK took part in this event for the third time with an exhibition with works of students and alums in galleries 1 and 2.

The World tour The Hague takes place as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. During the World Tour, citizens of The Hague can not only get to know various organisations, but also interact and learn from each other. Among the other participating organisations were The Hague Historical Museum, the Mosque Mescidi Aksa, the Shri Sanatan Dharm Dew Mandir and the Koorenhuis.

The exhibition at KABK commemorated the International Day of Elimination of Racial Discrimination with works from Cecilie Fang and Alease Boel Hansen, Charmaine de Heij, Fatu Odofo, Elisa de la Serna Gallego and Isa Zichterman. The visitors appreciated the talks with the makers of the works. A few said they recognised themselves in the work and it had opened up new perspectives.

The exhibition concluded a week with movement, dialogue, workshop organised by the Student Union and Grada (Decolonisation, Diversity, Inclusivity and Belonging).
