Fine Arts alumna Machteld Rullens wins Royal Award for Modern Painting 2019

Machteld Rullens who graduated at the Fine Arts department of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague in 2012 is one of the three winners of the Royal Award for Modern Painting 2019. His Majesty King Willem-Alexander announced the winners during the ceremony award on Friday 11 October 2019 in the Royal Palace Amsterdam.

The exhibition with works by the winners and nominees is on view from 12 October to 17 November 2019. Among the list of the fifteen nominees, alumna Kateřina Konarovská (Fine Arts 2015).

In previous editions, the prestigious Royal Award has been received by amongst others, KABK alumni Suzie van Staaveren (2017), Niels Broszat (2014), Bob Eikelboom (2014), Wieteke Heldens (2013).
