Marja van der Burgh

Coordinator at TypeMedia

Marja van der Burgh (1960, Rotterdam) is coordinator at TypeMedia since 2014. She also works as a high school French teacher. Marja obtained a master in French literature & language in 1988 with minors in industrial design, modern architecture and art of the 60-ties from Leiden University.

Marja worked as program manager at The Berlage Institute, a post-graduate institute for architecture and urbanism, and as pr & acquisitions manager on many publications and acquisitions for Rotterdam based architectural offices like KCAP, Neutelings Riedijk, and for 10 years at OMA where she started as PA of Rem Koolhaas.

As an independent editor she collaborated on books: “STRIP” with Hans Werlemann and Irma Boom (text and images), and “WateenGebouw” (images), a publication on architecture for children with Klaas de Jong and Anton Feddema. At TypeMedia, together with Erik van Blokland and Peter Verheul, Marja edited “Products of a Thinking Hand”, the book accompanying the GNp exhibition on Cyrus Highsmith in March 2018. She started a research on Letters and Architecture in the blog lettersandarchitecture.nl and made the stonecarving website lettercarving.org.
