De Stadswacht Studio Opening by KABK students and alums
De Stadswacht, a new studio space consisting of KABK students and alums, will open its doors on 28 November to the public for the first time. We invite you to celebrate the opening of our emerging makers community in Binckhorst with us!
Come and meet us, peek into our workshops, offices and studios, explore the building and see the works being created under its roof. Students and alums from various KABK departments such as ArtScience, Interior Architecture, IMD, Non Linear Narrative, Fine Arts, Graphic Design and Photography are working at De Stadswacht.
About De Stadswacht
De Stadswacht is a growing studio space, workshop and artist community in Binckhorst, The Hague. Since the 1980s, the building has remained a quiet witness to the neighbourhood’s transformation, looking out over demolition sites and new facades. During the months spent maintaining and caring for the space, its new inhabitants have breathed fresh life into its walls. Today, more than 150 local makers, artists, collectives, small businesses and organisations share four of its floors. It's an intergenerational community that spans a variety of crafts and disciplines: from music, technology, education, dance, repair, photography, design, fine arts, architecture to motor mechanics. De Stadswacht grows through collaboration, mutual support, and shared curiosity. From 2026 the event space De Etalage will open to the wider community of The Hague, welcoming neighbours and visitors into a space for exhibitions, gatherings, and collective learning.
