KABK Research Club
9 June, 17.00-19.00, Zoom

The past few meetings of the KABK Research Club have been dedicated to specific subjects and discussions. We are happy now to open up the club again for the KABK research community to bring in their research and projects-in-progress!

Do you have research practice in the field of design or a design-related discipline? Would you like to present your project to fellow researchers, find potential collaborators and participate in interdisciplinary exchange and discussions?

Join us on Wednesday 09 June 2021, 17.00 - 19.00 (online) for a meeting of the KABK Research Club, a forum for researchers from the KABK and Leiden University.

Zoom meeting

The Research Club is a forum for tutors, heads, (research) staff, workshop supervisors and PhD candidates from the KABK and Leiden University involved in research about, or through design-related disciplines. Research can take the form of scholarly investigation into design as subject matter, or it can be practice-led, using design as the method and means of enquiry.

Club meetings are organized several times a year and convened by the Design Lector, Dr Alice Twemlow. During these meetings, participants are invited to share their research in progress and engage in discussion about shared points of interest in research such as methods, approaches and references as well as in practical matters such as funding, organisation, publishing and dissemination of research. The aim is to identify and nurture emergent and developing research projects, share findings and best practices and create a network of potential collaborators and mentors.

Feel free to bring your suggestions for other formats and breakout activities such as reading groups or material experimentation sessions!

If you have any questions or suggestions prior to the meeting please be in touch with Martha at lectoratedesign@kabk.nl!
