“… en daar dan een foto van.”
A lecture by photo detective Hans Aarsman
Hans Aarsman (Amsterdam 1951), photographer and writer, started his career as a photojournalist at the newspaper Trouw. In 1989 he travelled around the Netherlands for a year while photographing the landscape from the roof of his camper. Aarsman published these photos in the book Hollandse Taferelen (Dutch Scenes, 1989), followed by three other publications on photography. Aarsman then set aside his camera and wrote several plays and novels, such as Twee hoofden, één kussen (Two heads, one pillow, 1995). Currently Aarsman writes on the subject of photography, for, among others, the newspaper Volkskrant, and teaches at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. In 2012 he made his first theatre programme, ‘De Aarsman Projectie’, at De Kleine Komedie.
