Open Day Posters

A display of series of posters created by the first year students for the Open Day.

The first years of the department have been designing different types of posters in the Design class taught by Laura Pappa: posters related to news and the media, commercial posters and last but not least cultural posters. And what better example of a cultural poster than designing one for the art academy the students themselves are studying in. For the KABK 2020 Open Day, each of the students was asked to design a poster for the event from their own point of view, thinking more specifically about their own relationship to the academy. All of them are fresh to the school, so all the more interesting are the results: some concentrated on the architecture of the building, some on the content of their studies and others provided a more impulsive reaction to the event as well as the aura of the school itself.

Time: 10:00 – 16:00
Location: Canteen

Playlab & Techweek - exhibition of works

THE ROYAL CULT CLUB

Over the course of the first semester, the Playlab students have engaged in the establishment of The Royal Cult Club: A cult that breaks with its negative connotation and seeks to cultivate a spiritual awareness for environmental ‘ineffables’. The Royal Cult Club is an elective course and was guided by Roosje Klap, Marthe Prins, and Job Wouters.

TECHWEEK

The Techweek is organised yearly at the Graphic Design department. Every year, around 8 guest tutors are invited to give a four-day long workshop on a tech-influenced subject they are experienced in. They share their expertise with our students, who are signing up for the workshop of their choice. After 4 days the end results are presented to each other and to the regular tutor team.
