Vacancy: Educational Instructor 3D-Lab

The Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK) educates students to become independent and self-aware artists and designers with investigative mindsets and unique visual and conceptual abilities. Students at the KABK get plenty of opportunities to hone their creativity. They can work in one of the many workshops, borrow equipment and make use of the knowledge and expertise of the workshop supervisors.

The 3D Lab is the KABK’s home for a wide range of computers, milling and 3D printing equipment. We are looking for an

Educational Instructor 3D Lab (0.2 fte)

What will you do?

Providing the students with practical guidance and instructions regarding the 3D printing equipment and the Prototyping process. Supervision of the workshop and safe use of equipment in the workshop. Writing instructional material is also part of the job.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a technical instructor who (preferably) has recently graduated from KABK. The instructor gives demonstrations and instructions that contribute to the education; is into research, communicative and takes initiative in guiding students in projects. Supervising students and writing instructional material is also part of the job.

Flexibility in working hours is desired, especially to replace your colleagues.

What do we offer?

The appointment is in the first instance for one academic year (2021 – 2022) with the possibility of renewal. The post is classified as scale 7 in the Collective Agreement for Higher Education (CAO-HBO). Furthermore, we offer a holiday allowance of 8% and a fixed year-end bonus of 8.3%; extended paid holiday leave, part of which is to be enjoyed during school holidays; good study and development opportunities.
